boring old English-style roast pork with apple sauce, roast & mashed pots, carrots, broccoli and onion gravy for tea tonite - cooked by (pretentious?) moi ........... so it's gonna be great.

One of the other good things about Hua Hin/Thailand in general is you can get all (and I mean all) the ingredients, spices, etc., for a proper Indian curry and they're all (dirt) cheap compared to back in the mother country (UK), so that's another regular option on the tea table ........... Not that fussed about masaman - give me vindaloo any day !!!!

"pretentious, moi"

Ah, you can't beat a good Sybil Fawlty quote.

How long have you been in Thailand and which part do you live in ?

I am considering making the move myself. Blighty seems to be getting a bit more grim every day at the moment.

Hua Hin (on sea).

6 going on 7 years.

Like everything it has its ups and downs but, on balance, I think I prefer it here to the rat race back in the UK.

But, think hard before you make the leap and don't burn your bridges. You never have enough money (even though it's cheaper here than there) and I could definitely do with more - something to do with having a wife & 3 kids.

Vindaloo -- I think that's what we'll have tonight! Good idea. Enjoy the British Special out by the beach. Though I understand vindaloo is really the national dish these.
